Ali Alberto Ponte Ramirez
Age 22 – Venezuela
My name is Ali Ponte. I was born in Venezuela, and I am currently finishing my last semester in the Bachelor of Arts degree program with a major in Economics and International Relations at St. Thomas University in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. My native language is Spanish, but I am also fluent in English and German.
My passion for peace initially developed thanks to my participation in organizations such as Rotary International both in Venezuela as well as in Canada. Also, my participation in different events like the Luxemburg Peace Prize 2016 and World Peace Forum 2016 celebrated in Brazil, have contributed to open my mind and give me the inspiration to value, even more, the concept of peace. In my opinion, peace is usually a concept that we all talk about, but only a few can really understand. Therefore, education is crucial when in comes to talk about this topic, which is essential for humanity to preserve in order to develop for the better.
World Peace Youth is an incredible platform that has the potential to become the next Ted Talk oriented only for peace. The world is full of leaders that work hard every day in the communities of their respective countries in order to foster the spirit of peace through understanding and cooperation. The webinars that World Peace Youth organize are oriented to give these leaders the recognition they deserve and make the world aware of the projects that they are currently developing to contribute to peace.
I am looking forward to meeting you and getting to know more about your contribution to peace for your community and hence the world!
I fully live my life by following this quote: ‘be the change you want to see in the world’
