I am Mariachiara, a 19 year old girl from a small town in Tuscany, Italy.
I am currently working in Australia on a gap year. I love traveling because it enables me to embrace new cultures, meet new people and live amongst them.
I would describe myself as a passionate and determined person, dreamer and pragmatic at the same time. I deeply believe in the strength of respect and friendship.
I am a scout and this gives me the opportunity to be involved locally in the community trying to be the best of myself in order to leave the world better than I found it.
I am also part of the project ‘Armonia fra i popoli.’ It organized four camps which brought together young dancers from Italy, France, Africa and most importantly from Palestine and Israel.
I experienced that Art, as dance, creates connection and empathy between people regardless of their beliefs or proveniences
I love meeting people with similar interests and this led me to participate at 2011 World Scout Jamboree (Sweden), 2012 Genfest (Budapest) and other events, all of these confirmed in me that a common dialogue between people is possible.
Peace is a progressing harmony between the valuation of personal talents and the respect of others differences. As in dance choreography, there are ensemble and solo parts, so it happens in life: everyone has to move amongst each other, feeling other people’s movements, at the same time letting everyone express their own personality, as an inspiration for others.
